Imagineering is currently being developed by Associated Professor Diane Nijs, commissioned by the TU in Delft (Netherlands). The definition that's being used now is "designing for co-creation". An Imagineering professional does this by desinging an Imaginative narrative, an 'imaginator', in order to inspire and guide people in shaping and re-shaping their situation (a implicit way of co-creation) (Nijs, 2010).
In this introduction I give quite a brief review of Imagineering. There's no way that you can describe Imagineering in one paragraph. Let me first describe why Imagineering is so important now, at this time in human life.
The importance of Imagineering at this point in society
Society is changing. Pine & Gillmore (2005) described the arise of a new era, the experience economy. From selling commodities (e.g. grain, corn) in the aggricultural society, people started producing goods out of these commodities. The industrial society caused a enormous boost in our economy
